Rogers on Demand Online.. the Canadian Hulu?

Rogers recently launched a beta version of a service offered to Canadian akin to the American Hulu at rogersondemand.com. There's a catch, for the moment the service is free, but only if you are an existing Rogers customer. You are required to register in order to view the content and will be asked to provide your account number, or verify your internet connection as part of the registration process.

The content does not even match what's available on the TV version of Rogers on Demand, and there are ads before and during the shows.

With so many other options for online viewing do you really think that Rogers will be able to compete with the free access websites, as well as the official websites that provide free episodes online?

It seems like this effort by Rogers seems futile in a sea of easily accessible content available all over the web?

The Rogers on Demand Online Experiment, what do you think, pass or fail?
